ACMin Courses are available to the public as auditing students (i.e. no college credit is earned), and to Dual Enrollment High School and Home School students.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Enrolled ACMin students and Dual Enrollment students must register through Populi. See TUITION RATES for degree-seeking students.

Prayer Leadership Certificate

ACMin offers a 6-course series for those interested in boosting their ministry to others in Christ through prayer. Program participants will develop an in-depth personal, biblical theology for prayer as well as strong skills for helping bind up the broken hearted through prayer ministry.

Christian Leadership Institute

Athens College of Ministry is launching a new and innovative program designed to walk beside churches and train up leaders that are qualified to serve both in lay ministry and in the marketplace. As a college that is dedicated to teach, reach, lead and minister to others through relational, hands-on training, this program will empower participants to go deeper into understanding how their own identity in Christ compels them to lead others and bring Kingdom principles into their sphere of influence. The Christian Leadership Institute (CLI) is an 18-month program filled with teaching, growing and experiential learning. Participants will be equipped and empowered to step into leadership roles both in the church and the community. New Institutes will begin every January and July.

Leading Others into Their God-Given Greatness
Date: Saturday, June 5, 2021
Time: 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM
Description: This workshop provides participants with personal insights into their unique gifts and abilities. By uncovering keys to their God-given identity, participants will understand and apply concepts related to the dynamic nature of leading others within four different domains of leadership.  As a result, participants will be better equipped to coach individuals and lead teams towards the  greatest possible Kingdom impact.

Spiritual Warfare: The Battle for Your Life, Course 1
Description: We are born into a spiritual battle. Fortunately, Jesus has made a way for our conquest. Knowing God and His Word is the key to our success in defeating the enemy. In Session 1, you will discover important and powerful truths regarding the two kingdoms that are at war and the tactical maneuvers employed by each army. In Session 2, you will learn effective strategies for waging war against the enemy and the thrill of victory in our Lord Jesus Christ.

Idols, Injustice, & the Image of God: What the Bible Says About Interacting with Humans
Description: Through a careful study of three seemingly unrelated Scriptural concepts, “Idols, Injustice, and the Image of God” we’ll discover that God has a better plan for humanity than for it to be filled with violence, manipulation, racism, and abuses of power.

Biblical Theology of Missions: God’s Heart for the Nations
Description: Participants will examine the scriptures from beginning to end, discovering God’s heart for His glory, for the nations and for His worship among all the peoples of the world. You will develop a better understanding of the scriptures as well as the metanarrative of scripture, in order to encourage you to share the gospel with lost people in their personal spheres of influence. Participants will learn and practice tools to share the Gospel and to show others God’s heart for the nations via the scriptures.

Christian Life Coaching
Description: Christian Life Coaching is designed for those who find themselves struggling or stagnant in their current circumstances. CLC provides a relational approach to encourage, empower and propel individuals desiring to grow spiritually, to enhance their relationships that matter most, and to make important life changes. Coaching is designed to draw out of individuals what God has put in by unlocking their potential and maximizing their personal walk in truth. CLC is like having a personal trainer for any and every area of life!

12-Week Courses Meet May 10th – July 27th

Course Formats. ACMin offers in-person, blended, virtual, and online classes. Check the schedule below to select the type of class meeting that best suits your schedule and geographic location.

Online Class. All ACMin courses offered online have a 2 hours of required live videoconference meeting times for each credit hour. The instructor will poll all enrolled students for their availability to schedule the virtual course meeting times.

Videoconference Class. These virtual classes meet by live, synchronous videoconference. Students are expected to attend classes virtually at the regularly scheduled times.

Blended Class. Most ACMin courses can be taken virtually by students who do not live locally. Contact your Academic Advisor for more information about attending a “blended” class.

Psychology & Theology: Building Joy-Filled Relationships

Meeting Times: Fridays, 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM, 5/21, 6/4, 6/25, 7/9 & 7/23
Description: Participants will learn how God designed the brain to work in relationships and in the healing process for traumas. Participants will understand that joy is relational and will practice exercises that build relational joy and retrain the brain to improve relationships. Participants will learn how unresolved painful memories affect relationships, how triggers occur that hinder relationships, and how the brain processes for healing. Participants will learn how avoiding emotional pain affects our lives and how to stop avoiding emotional pain. Participants will experience the Immanuel Process for healing painful memories and practice facilitating that process with one another.

God’s Design For Sexual Wholeness

Meeting Times: Tuesdays & Thursdays, 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM
Description: This course examines God’s design for human sexuality and the sexual challenges facing the 21st century church. This course explores a Biblical theology of sex and provides a foundation for sexual wholeness in navigating sexual issues in various ministry applications.

Apologetics

Meeting Times: Wednesdays, 6:00 – 8:30 PM (blended)
Description: The primary focus of this course will be the practical application of apologetics in ministry and evangelism. Various approaches to the apologetic task will be investigated. Attention will be given to the systematic and rational defense of the Christian faith against significant contemporary challenges. Topics include such areas as tests for truth, a critique of relativism and pluralism, the problem of miracles, and the historicity of the Christian faith.

The Great Commission: Evangelism

Meeting Times: Mondays & Wednesdays, 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Description: This course challenges students to consider the relationship between Christ and culture by equipping students with an overview of Christian philosophy and answers to the most difficult questions posed by both believers and unbelievers. Within the theological framework, students will study major doctrines pertaining to the existence and nature of God, evil, the nature of man, Scripture as the source of truth, and Church as the body of Christ. The course introduces students to tools and models for evangelism by applying Christian philosophy in the context of sharing the Good News in a contemporary culture of competing world views and relativism. Students will perform and evaluate personal evangelistic activities.

GENERAL EDUCATION

English Composition

Meeting Times: Mondays, 6:00 PM – 8:30 PM (blended)
Description: The English Composition course prepares students for the rigors of college writing with an emphasis on correct writing mechanics, writing for effective communication, writing styles appropriate to the intended audience, and proper citations. Students are required to complete a research paper on a Christian topic of personal interest at the culmination of this course.
