Lifelong Ministry Course Registration & Fees

ACMin Courses are available to the public as auditing students (i.e. no college credit is earned), and to Dual Enrollment High School and Home School students.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Enrolled ACMin students and Dual Enrollment students must register through Populi. See TUITION RATES for degree-seeking students. To register as a non-degree-seeking (auditing) student:

Senior Discount:
 Individuals age 65 or older may enroll in LMP courses at a 20% discount.

Prayer Leadership Certificate

ACMin offers a 6-course series for those interested in boosting their ministry to others in Christ through prayer. Program participants will develop an in-depth personal, biblical theology for prayer as well as strong skills for helping bind up the broken hearted through prayer ministry.

BIBLICAL STUDIES

The Trinity
Meeting Times: Wednesdays, 6:00 – 9:00 PM
Description:  In this course students will explore the interrelated nature of the Trinity and the unique roles and characteristics  of God as the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, based on biblical examination..  From that biblical grounding, students will then compare and contrast historical and contemporary theological perspectives related to the Trinity.  Students will also consider the implications for Christian life based on a biblically-based understanding of the Trinity.

Inductive Bible Study
Meeting Times: Tuesdays, 6:00 – 9:00 PM
Description:The goal of inductive Bible study is to equip students with the tools to be life-long students of the Scriptures. The course presents a method for exegesis and scripture study by considering the context and setting of the passage, the author’s audience and purpose, and the other passages that surround the passage of study. The purpose of the study is to understand what the text would have communicated in the context of the time and culture that produced and used it, while also understanding that contemporary questions are conditioned by our own language, culture, and history.

CARE MINISTRY

The Practice of Prayer
Meeting Times: Mondays, 6:00 – 9:00 PM
Description: In this course, students will reflect on various forms of prayer including intercession and transformational prayer, and develop a model of prayer leadership to use in a selected ministry setting. Students will concurrently lead prayer ministry sessions and reflect on their apprenticeship experience through this course as a means to grow in wisdom and understanding as prayer leaders.

Church History
Meeting Times: Mondays, 6:00 – 9:00 PM
Description: This course examines the history of Christianity from the Old Testament through modern times, including the spread of Christianity throughout the world, the preservation of Christianity across generations, heroes of faith, and the emergence of different denominations.

CHRISTIAN EDUCATION

The Art & Science of Teaching
Meeting Times: Thursdays, 6:00 – 9:00 PM
Description: In this course students will explore two fundamental questions: How do people learn? and What instructional methods most effectively support student learning? Course participants will examine both traditional approaches to the educational process as well as current research-based theory and practice. Students will learn how to adapt course content and processes to meet the needs of all students (e.g. adaptation, differentiation, and accommodation). Students will develop both a philosophy and a practice for instructional planning that focuses on the seamless integration of outcomes, instruction, and the measurement of the intended objectives.

GENERAL EDUCATION

Plants of the Bible
Meeting Times: Tues. & Thurs., 1:30 – 3:00 pm
Description:Through an end-to-end study of every plant mentioned in the Scriptures, students will consider plant names in the original biblical language (Hebrew, Greek) as well as the uses of those plants in ancient Israel. Further, students will explore present-day connections between biblical symbolism, the Scriptures, and 21st Century life and ministry.

English Composition
Meeting Times: Tues. & Thurs., 11:00 AM – 12:30 PM
Description: The English Composition course prepares students for the rigors of college writing with an emphasis on correct writing mechanics, writing for effective communication, writing styles appropriate to the intended audience, and proper citations. Students are required to complete a research paper on a Christian topic of personal interest at the culmination of this course.
