National Day of Prayer
Thursday, May 3, 2018
The 67th annual National Day of Prayer, May 3, 2018, will have profound significance for our country. It is an unprecedented opportunity to see the Lord’s healing and renewing power made manifest as we call on citizens to humbly come before His throne.
The theme for 2018 is UNITY based on Ephesians 4:3, “Making every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.” Specifically, Americans are asked to pray:
–for unity of thought and strategy among our nation’s leadership over the critical issues in America today. (“Now if any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God—who gives to all generously and ungrudgingly—and it will be given to him.” James 1:5)
–that we agree clearly, unite visibly, and pray extraordinarily for the next Great Spiritual Awakening in America. (“They all were continually united in prayer.” Acts 1:14)
–for God to intervene supernaturally across America as we call upon all Americans to pray for our nation on the National Day of Prayer on Thursday, May 3, 2018.
Scripture tells us again and again that our fervent prayer is effective. That our loving God responds to His children’s earnest pleas in mighty ways that avail much, and ultimately determine the course of history. At this crucial time for our nation, we can do nothing more important than pray!
On May3, 2018, God is inviting us to join in a prayer movement spanning the globe to cry out for Him to advance His kingdom and prepare His bride. Please join in with us on this year’s National Day of Prayer. There are prayer activities going on all day, from 7:00 AM to 9:00 PM. Stay tuned for a growing list of scheduled events or to download print versions of the Prayer Guide or a flyer to include in your church bulletin. Contact ACMin (firstname.lastname@example.org) or Steve Smith of Athens Prayer Network to list other 2018 National Day of Prayer activities on this page that are open to the public. You really do not want to miss out on this opportunity to join in prayer!!!
