Job Title: Worship Pastor

Position Description: This person will serve as primary leader of the worship and creative arts ministry of the church. The purposes of the position are to lead and facilitate an atmosphere in which God is worshipped and glorified and the building up of the body of Christ.

Office hours 8:30 A.M. to 4:30 P.M. as needed to complete ministry functions. Mondaythrough Thursday. Friday and Saturday are days that the office is not open. There will be other hours required that are not office hours to complete job functions.

Instruments Preferred: Guitar & efficient in piano is preferred

Skills Preferred: He will be responsible for all areas of worship including the worship center. This would mean that he does not have to be an expert in all areas, but he will be the leader so there has to be a good base. Would want him to be an expert in communicating a message in an excellent way that draws people into worship. He will need to be able to arrange music. Read and play music on a piano so that he can lead the choir in practice. We use Proclaim for our presentation software so he would have to learn how to do that, but it is easy to learn.

Years of Experience: 5+ of full time worship ministry experience required

Reports to: Responsible to the Senior Pastor. Practice and support the constitution of the church. Practice and support the policies and procedures of the church. Make fill-in arrangements when unable to perform duties as described during services or practices.

Youth Director

Sparrow’s Nest Youth Director


Reporting to the Executive Director/Director’s Assistant, the Youth Director will have strategic and operational responsibility for the Sparrow’s Nest youth ministries. A large community of volunteers supports the Youth Director. This is a part-time position with potential for full-time in the future. Pay is commensurate with experience.

• Provide Wednesday and Thursday drivers with a list of students and addresses for pickup. Have them report back when they return to the Sparrow’s Nest and address any students that were not picked up. Communicate with parents and/or school officials to resolve any logistical issues.
• Coordinate sermon topics and provide small group leaders with applicable questions for small group prior to Thursday for their preparation.
• Maintain email lists for all youth ministries and communicate all details associated with those ministries with volunteers in a timely manner through available resources (email, text, Facebook).
• Organize special events and outside gatherings to promote relationships with youth under the direction of the Executive Director.
• Keep records of youth participation.
• Lead based on basic biblical principles.

Minister to Youth

The mission for this position:

Our Youth Minister will oversee our current ministry to youth (middle school through high school) and their families through leading, directing, and administrating our current youth ministry programs on Sunday. The Youth Minister is also encouraged to evaluate, refine, and possibly expand our current ministry programs with the guidance of our Family Council, Pastoral staff, and church leadership.


-The Minister to Youth will work with clergy and staff, current families, and the congregation to help youth (6th grade to 12th grade) become disciples of Jesus Christ.
